Wash routine for relaxed hair
aka texlaxed hair
After protective styling my hair for four weeks, it was time for a prober wash routine. On Friday I took down my braids. I always make sure that my scalp can breathe, for I start the wash routine.
It was time to clarify my hair. But for this step I used to shampoos, Mizani PuripHying Shampoo (Clarifing) and ORS HAIRepair Invigorating Shampoo (Moisturizing). This was my first time using the HaiRepair shampoo.
With a t-shirt I wrapped my hair for an hour – I was stretching because I was watching a show -. In small parts I applied ORS HaiRepair Nourishing Conditioner. I have used this conditioner like a year ago, but never really explored the product. In small sections I applied the product to my hair and really concentrated on my new growth. I deep condition for 3 hours – yes 3 hours – without heat. My hair was soft and moisturized.
I sprayed ORS Shealicious Moisture Mist Leave-In Conditioning Spray all over my hair and really concentrated on my new growth and ends. This is also a new product that I’m trying out. When I was applying the product to my hair, I could feel that the new growth part was soft. Because of the many weeks post relaxer, it’s important to maintain softness.
Because of the nice weather – I had some errands to do – I tied my hair in a low bun and air-dried.
I plan to keep on going with protective styling my hair. I’m not sure when I will be relaxing my hair – I think soon –
