Wash Routine For Texlaxed Hair

Wash day Saturday 20 January!

18 weeks post relaxer

In the morning I went to gym. So when I came home I wasn’t feeling to do a pre-poo, but jumped right in the shower and wash my hair.

STEP 1 | SHAMPOO
During the week I co-washed my hair, so my scalp wasn’t dirty, but it needed some H20! In sections of two I shampooed my hair with Aunt Jackie’s Oh So Clean Moisturizing & Softening Shampoo. I have notice that I only like this shampoo when my hair is moisturized. When my hair is dry before I wash my hair, then this shampoo is a no no for me. After washing I wrapped a cotton t-shirt around my hair to soak the excess water.

STEP 2 | DEEP CONDITION
Time for my favourite part! To keep on with Aunt Jackie’s, I used In Control Moisturizing & Softening Conditioner mixed with some oils (Castor Oil x Olive Oil x Peppermint Oil). In sections of four I applied the conditioner to my hair. To boost up the process I sat under a hooded dryer for 30 minutes.

I’m really happy that I start using my hooded dryer again! The added heat really benefits the conditioner. I will soon switch over to my hair steamer, another great tool!

STEP 3 | LEAVE-IN
Last but not least! I used Aunt Jackie’s Half & Half Hydrating Silkening Hair Milk spray. I applied the product all over my hair and then styled my hair in high ponytail to air-dry.

I think this is the first time that I only used Aunt Jackie’s products and to be honest I loved the combination. My hair felt good and strong. While I was detangling my hair in Sunday morning, my breakage was minimal and my hair was nice & thick.

I was amazed when I found out that I was 18 weeks post relaxer. I thought there was some weeks left before texlaxing my hair. I’m not done with stretching my hair, so let see how far I can go.

The journey to healthy thick hair continues!

Healthy Hair Journey,
Eems
