Before my hair journey I was ADDICTED to the creamy crack (relaxer). So when I started my hair journey it was hard for me to stretch my relaxer .. but with some great tips I found my way. I’m now at the point that I stretch my hair to 24 weeks ..
Im proud of myself for stretching so long .. but I decided to stop stretching to 24 weeks. I see that I’m more focused on stretching so long then taking care of my hair *sad face*. This couple of weeks my hair has been breaking and shedding like crazy and I think it has to do with my stretching.
This weekend I can finally relax my hair .. I’m 24 weeks post. But after this no more long stretching. My new stretch regimen will be 12 – 20 weeks. It’s funny instead of building up I need to build down.
For some time now I have been thinking about switching my relaxer. For years I have been using ORS no-lye relaxer and I love it .. don’t get me wrong .. but I have seen some ladies (my relaxed hair gurus on YouTube) using the lye relaxer. So I did a little research for myself to see what the differents are between a lye and no-lye.
Based on the information that I read about both relaxers I decided to switch relaxer. Why?? Well I texlax my hair now .. soo I don’t relax my hair bone straight and I like the fact that the lye relaxer is not harsh on the individual hair strands. I hope that the lye relaxer will work out for me
Last week Sunday I relaxed (texlax) my hair. I was 24 weeks post .. and it was about time 🙂 . I don’t know if my hair is really texlaxed … because I feel that my hair is more relaxed than texlaxed. Maybe I should have put more oil in the mixture. Next time I also need to pay more attention to the time.
