Wash routine for relaxed hair | September 26!
In the weekend I was busy with some activities what led me to wash my hair during the week. Since I have relaxed my hair I have tried to leave my hair alone. Also I need to do a ‘hard’ protein treatment to strengthen my hair. This is a treatment that I need to do ASAP!
After 23 week being post relaxer, it’s was time to texlax my hair. Every time I tell myself that I’m not going to stretch my hair for more than 16 weeks, but hey here I am. This time around I my normal relax routine had a twist.
relaxed hair aka texlaxed hair
Since my relaxer I noticed more hair falling out than normal – shedding & breakage – . Yeah shedding is normal, but this last week it was too much for my liking and the breakage was crazy. I know I need to step up with the protein treatment.
Before washing my hair I started with an oil treatment. I made a mix of Coconut oil with 1 tps. Olive oil. The oil was applied all over my hair and scalp. I love using an oil for my pre-poos. I did this treatment more than 2 hours.
After 25 weeks, I decided to relax my hair. Every time I say I’m not going to stretch my hair for so long, but yeah I’m used to it know.
This stretch was really getting to know my hair all over again. My downfall in the beginning of my stretch was dealing with a lot of split ends. I have changed my regimen a bit and been using different products. Mizani has been my saviour with this stretch.
Although I still have some bone straight hair, but my texlaxed hair is nicely growing.
This week I was free from work. So I decided to wash my hair on a Wednesday. I have been slacking again sleeping without a scarf during the week. I need to buy a satin pillow case to protect my hair.
For the pre poo routine I mixed Organix Pomegranate Green Tea Conditioner with the new oil mix (Grape Seed x Sesame Seed x Coconut). Before applying the conditioner I damp my hair with regular water. In sections of four I applied a decent amount to the hair and made sure that my ends was covered. With this routine I didn’t pay any attention to the time. When think about I let the treatment sit for more than an hour.
