For the last two weeks I have been wearing my wig as a protective style. I’m trying to leave my hair alone and protect it from the weather. So far I’m holding on. Before I started with the protective style I did a protein treatment, two weeks ago, to strengthen my hair. I planned to wear my wig for another 3 weeks – I hope I can manage, after a while I miss my hair – .
At this moment I’m 18 weeks post relaxer
For a while I wanted to do a pre-poo ‘oil’ treatment with my steamer. I applied vitamin E oil mixed with a little bit of Jojoba oil all over my hair and scalp. Normally I would use Castor or Coconut oil, but I wanted to try something different. I used the Huetiful Hair Steamer for the treatment. After the treatment the front of my hair felt soft, but the back felt a bit stiff – weird -, I need to play with using Vitamin E oil for a pre-poo treatment-.

Wash routine for ‘relaxed‘ hair
 My hair was dry as #@$!. So I started off with a pre-poo treatment
by using Olive Oil
. In sections of three I applied the oil to my hair and scalp. I did the pre-poo treatment for like an hour without heat.
Since my relaxer I haven’t done a protein treatment – what am I thinking – for this routine I planned to do a ‘hard’ protein treatment … but I got lazy and switched my routine. Next week doing a protein treatment is a must!!!
Search and Destroy Method: while I was detangling my hair I notice some split ends – say no to split ends –. So I decided to do a search and destroy method.
For the wash I used Mizani Moisturfusion Milk Bath Shampoo. The love for this shampoo is too much!! In sections of four I shampooed my hair, twice. After the wash I wrapped my hair with a t-shirt to towel dry.
The cold weather is messing up my hair, like really. I told myself to do more protective styles, but I’m lacking.
My hair felt really rough so I needed a good moisture treatment
Step 1 | Pre Poo treatment
It’s been a while that I did a pre poo treatment. A pre poo treatment always helps me to get back shine. I applied my Pre Poo oil mix (Jamaican Black Castor oil x Olive oil x 5 drops of Rosemary oil) to each section. I really concentrated on my ends, because it really needed the extra love. I let the oil sit for an hour without heat.
During the week my schedule was a bit off. For example, moisturizing my hair in the morning and not at night. Then there was some days I didn’t use a scarf at night. On the positive side I did more protective styles, like cornrow braid or cornrow twist my hair.
Pre poo treatment
It’s been a while, but it was definitely time for a pre-poo. I used Extra Virgin Coconut Oil all over my hair and Jamaican Black Castor Oil on my scalp. I did this treatment for an hour without heat. While I was applying the oil to my hair I noticed I had a lot of hair loss. The hair loss comes from not moisturizing my hair properly during the week.
