With every stretch I tell myself that I won’t go further than 18 weeks post, but here I’m again at 24 weeks post relaxer. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with stretching for a long period of time – I have been doing that for the longest – but I wanted to try something different and see how my hair will react.
With every stretch my focus has been with retaining my length. At times I’m still dealing the extreme breakage and split ends. Like sometimes I will talk to my hair and ask “Can I get a break?” and living in the Netherlands doesn’t help either – the weather is pissing me off- but on the positive note, I’m happy with my new growth. I’m transitioning from relaxed hair (bone straight texture) to texlaxed hair (semi straight hair).
For the last past weeks I have been really active with protective styling my hair. It has helped me to keep my hair moisturized. Although I’m pleased with my protective styles I want to step my game up.
To clean my scalp and hair I used Mizani Moisturfusion Milk Bath Shampoo. Like always I shampooed my hair twice. After the wash I used a t-shirt to dry my hair.
Lately my schedule for my wash routine has been messed up. I didn’t want to wash my hair, but I HAD to. My hair was screaming for a wash. I had a b-day dinner to attend to, so there wasn’t enough time for a “take it easy wash routine”. So I did a quick wash.
In four sections I shampooed my hair with Mizani Puriphying Shampoo. I can’t remember the last time I clarified my hair, but I needed to remove all the product from the last past weeks. I washed my hair twice and wrapped my hair with a cotton t-shirt. I’m still working on minimalizing the hair loss during my wash. I need to do a research how I can go about it.
I’m still protective styling with a wig. During the week I made sure that I applied an oil – Almond Oil – to my edges and nape. Because of my birthday my sister took me on a spa date. I planned not to get my hair wet, but who was I kidding. My wig got wet and because of the weight, it pulled down my wig. Because of the pulling my edges was extra sensitive – ugh -.
Sunday afternoon I took off my wig and braids. I let my scalp breath for the whole day. Monday was washday – sometimes you got to switch it up –
The last time I clarified my hair was a month and view weeks ago. That is not keeping up with my monthly regimen – the plan is every 4 weeks -. In small sections I shampooed my hair with Mizani Puriphying Shampoo. After the second was I wrapped my hair with a cotton t-shirt.
Last week I had to switch to another day for washing my hair. On Saturday I attended a wedding and I knew there was no time to do a wash routine in the morning. So I washed my hair on Friday. I planned to flat iron my hair, but I wasn’t sure which product to use.

Pre poo treatment
Mixing Redken Real Control & Time Reset Conditioner and Coconut Oil to pre poo with. It’s been a long time that I used this product and I also finished the bottle. I don’t know if I will buy the product again. The mixture was applied all over my hair and mainly on the ends. I let the product sit for 30 minutes without heat.
I shampooed my hair with Mizani Moisturfusion Milk Bath Shampoo.
Does this sounds familiar? Your start your day and planned an easy going wash routine and before you know, you are running out of time. A wash routine can be easy and quick – don’t get me wrong – So Saturday was an easy wash routine.

It was time to clarify my hair. For the wash I used Mizani Puriphying Intense Cleansing Shampoo. This was my first using the product. When I need a clarifying shampoo this will be my go to shampoo. For this wash I sectioned my hair in five sections – normally it will be 4 –
