Clarifying wash treatment for relaxed hair!
clarifying wash treatment
We have entered a new month, so it’s time for a clarifying wash treatment. I like to use an clarifying shampoo once a month to get rid of all the build-up and dirt from the environment. This time I skipped using a scrub to detox my scalp, because I didn’t had much time.
Step 1 | Shampoo
With my clarifying wash routines I always use two different types of shampoos. A clarifying & moisture based shampoo, because after getting rid of all the dirt, I like to add back some moisture.
Clarify
For clarifying I used Mizani Puriphying Intense Cleansing Shampoo. Last month I started using this shampoo again. I like this shampoo, because it contains salicylic acid which is great for exfoliating the scalp.
“start the month with a clean scalp”
To be honest my scalp wasn’t dirty because I co-washed my hair on Wednesday. So cleaning my scalp was a quick process.
Moisture
New product alert! This is the first time using TGIN Moisture Rich Sulfate Free Shampoo. I didn’t expected the light consistency and that I didn’t need much product. It lathers really well and it softened my new growth. I’m going to use this shampoo every week, to see how my hair will respond as I continue with stretching my relaxer to 20 weeks.
Step 2 | Deep condition
To give my hair the TLC that it needs, I deep conditioned with TGIN Honey Miracle Hair Mask. I have used this mask before and it really moisturize my hair, plus it doesn’t contain any protein ingredients.
In sections of four I applied the mask to my hair and sat under the steamer. My hair was so thankful for this treatment.
My hair was moisturized, soft and I had less breakage.
“It’s the soft new growth for me”
Step 3 | Leave-in
Because of time I had to hurry up and couldn’t properly apply a leave-in to my hair. To keep it simple and quick I used Mizani D’tangle Moisturizing Leave-In Milk spray and added a little bit of Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter to my ends.
I had an appointment in the afternoon, so I styled my hair in high bun and let it air-dry.
At the moment I’m 18 weeks post relaxer. I ready to re-touch my new growth, but I’m going to hold on to 20 weeks. To manage the thickness of my hair I’m going to do more protective styles.
With Care,
Eems
