Wash day 29 March 2014

It’s been tooo long !!! My laziness is getting worse and it shows. My hair is screaming for some TLC. Last week I haven’t been moisturizing each night and sleeping with a scarf. I have noticed that my hair is really weak, so I decided it was time for a protein treatment and I’m also planning to relax my hair… soon. Thinking about it ‘when was my last protein treatment?’ I had to look it up ‘ohw snap .. the last time was in December ’13’.  My goal is once a month – shame on me –

After pre-poo

PRE-POO

I started off with an oil treatment as my pre-poo. I used Jamaican Black Castor mixed with peppermint oil on the scalp. In section I massaged the oil on the scalp. I made sure that I gave my problems are some extra love. – I will write an article about my problems areas and how I take care of it- . when I was done with my scalp, it was time to apply my pre-poo oil mix (Coconut Oil x Olive Oil) on the hair. I covered my hair with a plastic bag and on top of that I placed a scarf for some heat.

I pre-poo for about 2 hours, I didn’t mean to. I was Cinderella for the day, so I had to cook diner for the family.

Wash day 15 February ‘14

2014.02.15 blog foto 1

So I finally decided to wash my hair. What I’m doing lately is really really bad. On February 9th I took down my u-part wig. It was two weeks already and my edges needed a break. But I was sooo tired that I really didn’t had the energy to go and wash my hair. So I told myself I will do it on Monday, after work * side eye *.

Step 1

The last time I clarify my hair was in September. I need to step my game up, but yeah it’s time to clarify my hair. For this routine I used ORS Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo. I sectioned my hair in 8 parts. Working in parts works for me. after the wash my hair was rough, this shampoo really clarifies. When I was done washing I applied Redken Real Control Conditioner for some boost. I’m starting to like this conditioner. It’s a light weight conditioner so I left in for 5 minutes.

2014.02.15 wash day (clarify)Step 2

For about 6 minutes I t-shirt dried my hair. In the mean time I mixed my conditioner with some oils (Creme of Nature Professional Moisture Extreme Conditioner with castor, grape seed, peppermint, rosemary oil and glycerine). I deep conditioned for 45 minutes with a hooded dryer. When I’m done conditioning I let my hair cool off for 5 minutes. This conditioner is definitely a K E E P E R.

Step 3

I always start late with my routine, I don’t know why I always do that. In the evening I had a date with my girlfriends. I applied Garnier Fructis Nutri repair 3 leave-in  all over my hair and without detangling my hair I put it in a high bun and I was ready to go. I didn’t use a lot of product because the next day I planned to flat iron my hair.

Washing your hair is always a good thing. I’m 18 weeks post and  I love how my new growth feels.

2014.01.25 Wash dayOne week has gone by and I’m ready for my protective style again. I live in the Netherlands and the weather here SUCKS!!! So to protect my lovey hair I will be rocking my u-part wig with a closure.

Step 1
I started my routine with a pre-poo oil treatment.  I used my oil mix (click on the link, to see what my pre-poo oil mix is). In small section I applied the oil on my scalp and hair. I make sure that I massage my scalp with the oil and concentrate on my ends. After that I used my hooded dryer for about 30 minutes. I love the way my hair feels after this treatment, it’s so shiny and my ends are alive again lool.

2014.01.18 Wash day

For the past 4 weeks I have been wearing my u-part wig with a closure. Hahaha let me tell you .. I was so afraid for the closure. I bought the closure last year in March and I finally decided to use it. I will write a post about how I maintain my hair with a u-part wig.

When I do this protective style I make sure that I was my hair every two weeks. So yesterday  was time for a wash.

wash day 15 December ’13

2013.12.15 wash day

Step  1 -Pre-Poo

[A] every time I start with my wash routine, I make sure that my hair is detangled. I do my detangle method in four parts, it’s easier for me that way and less damaging to the hair. [B] Each part I apply my oil pre-poo mix first, then I put some oil on my scalp and massage it. To make the treatment complete, in small sections I apply the pre-poo mix. I made sure that I gave my problem areas (nape, edges and ends) some extra love.  [C] I cover my hair with a plastic bag and sit under the dryer for 30 minutes.

Step 2 – Wash

[D] My wash routine is so simple and short. For this wash I used Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing Shampoo. I can’t wait to finish this bottle, I don’t like it. It’s supposed to be a moisturizing shampoo, but I don’t agree. Because I don’t like this shampoo I only washed my hair once, normally I wash it twice.

Step 3 – Deep condition

[E] After the wash I cover my hair with a cotton t-shirt for about 20 minutes to soak up the water. I applied Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisturizing Conditioner on each section, covered my hair with a plastic bag and sat under the dryer for 45 minutes.  What I love about this conditioner is that you don’t need a lot of product. I didn’t mix this conditioner with an oil. It’s the first time that I use the shampoo and conditioner together. Let’s see how that will work out.

Oke so after washing my hair I wasn’t happy. My hair was moist from the conditioner but my hair was still stiff from the freaking shampoo. I was extra gentle with my hair while rinsing out the conditioner.

Step 4 – Leave-in-conditioner

[F] I applied Garnier Fructis Repair leave-in all over my hair. Normally I will apply the leave-in in small sections, but I’m lazy. I concentrated on my ends, nape and edges. [G] After applying the leave-in I let my hair air-dry.

Step 5 – Moisturize & Seal

[H] In small sections I applied my moisture mix (ORS Hair Lotion x Rosewater). For sealing I used John Frieda Frizz Serum. My hair wasn’t 100% dry when moisturizing my hair. The rest of the air-drying was overnight.

Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing Shampoo is not my friend !!!

Wash day 1 December ’13

2013.12.01 wash dayStep 1
I washed my hair in four section with Creme of Nature Argan Oil Moisture & Shine Shampoo. My hair felt really good after this wash. It was moisturize and shiny.

Step 2
It was time for a protein treatment. In October I bought Creme of Nature Nourishing & Strengthening conditioner.  – When I use a product for the first time I use it in its natural form, that means I don’t use any oil. –  I will do a review about it really soon. I deep conditioned my hair for a long time (2 hours+).  – I was catching up with For Better or Worse episodes.- Even though this is a protein treatment, my hair didn’t felt hard at all. My hair was really moist and soft. I need to do more research about this product. But so far so good.

Step 3
I wrapped my hair with a t-shirt and let sit for about 20 minutes. In four section I moisturized my hair with Garnier Fructis Nutri Repair leave-in. Before I applied the leave-in I detangled my hair in four sections. I make sure my hair is about 50% dry. Detangling my hair when it’s still wet is a NO NO!!

Step 4
I moisturized my hair with my hair lotion mix (ORS Hair Moisturizing Lotion + rosewater)  and sealed  with ORS HaiRepair Vital Oils. I decided to do a braid out in for sections, lool I do everything in for sections.

What are your experiences with Creme of Nature Nourishing & Strengthening conditioner?
