2014.11.23 WASHDAY

It was all about heat this washing routine. I’m planning to use heat (a hooded dryer or a steamer) regularly because of the cold weather. My hair had a good week. Almost every morning I moisturized with ORS HAIRepair Intense Moisture Crème. Why in the morning. Well I was lazy to moisturize my hair in the evening.

Step 1

I started with a pre-poo oil treatment. I made a new oil mixture and I’m loving it – post about the mix coming soon – . In four sections I applied the oil. I really focused on my ends. I still suffering from split ends, it’s driving me CRAZY!! For some stimulation I applied Jamaican Black Castor Oil x Peppermint oil on my scalp. When applying the oil I massage my scalp. – when I was massaging my scalp I could feel my lovely new growth –  I used a hooded dryer for a hour.

Step 1
For my wash treatment I started with a pre-poo treatment. I used two different oils. On my left side I applies Sesame seed oil and on the right side my Coconut oil. Why 2 different oils?? I’m experimenting with the Sesame seed oil. On my scalp I applied Jamaican Black Castor oil x peppermint oil.

I was busy with cleaning my room and other stuff, so I left the treatment on my hair for about 2 hours. The peppermint oil was in full effect. I love the tingle ling feeling.

Step 2
I washed my hair with Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing Shampoo. I wished my love for the conditioner was the same as for the shampoo. But this shampoo is not the business for me. But why did you use it? My goal is to finish my products. The reason I don’t like this shampoo is because there is no slip.

2014-10-11 Wash day

Saturday!!!  It was time to wash my hair. During the week I have moisturized only twice and have been protective styling by braiding my hair. Last week during my wash routine I did the search and destroy method. I really need to concentrate on my ends, because the split ends are driving me crazy.

Step 1
I decided to clarify my hair. I need to do better with clarifying. For the wash part I used Tresemme Deep cleansing shampoo and Organix hydrating macadamia oil shampoo. This is my first time using two shampoos in one wash. The reason for using 2 products is because a clarifying shampoo strips down my hair –  and yes the Tresemme shampoo really cleaned my hair and scalp – So I decided for the second wash I will use Organix shampoo to bring back the moisture.

Since I relaxed my hair .. smh I have been neglecting my hair really bad. So today I decided to give my hair that extra TLC. I’m also going to change my regimen, but first thing first.

[1] #PrePoo: when I do a pre-poo treatment I will use an oil or a light conditioner. This time I decided to make a mixture of the Redken Real Control Conditioner with Coconut Oil. I wanted to try something new. In mind this mixture will give my hair an extra boost. Plus I don’t use the Redken Conditioner that often. In sections of 4 I applied the mixture to my hair, concentrating on my ends. When I was done it was time for my scalp. I applied a mixture of Jamaican Black Castor Oil x peppermint oil and then massage my scalp. Can you believe that I pre-poo for 1 ½ hour.

So I’m finally home from  my trip and it was time to wash my hair.  Because of my braids I had to find a different way to do my wash  routine. To make it easy I used a spraying bottle.

Step 1
I started with conditioning my hair. I mixed Cream of Nature Professional Moisture Extreme Conditioner with castor , rosemary oil  and glycerine. I dilute the mixture with a little bit of water. I applied the mixture on the beginning of the braids. I deep condition my hair for about 1 ½ hours without heat.

Washday July 5

untitle_Fotor_Collage

It’s been a long time that I wrote a blog post about my washday. So here is a quick update. To make a long story short I’m still slacking!! Moisturize and seal every night is still a fail and there are some nights that I didn’t cover my hair with a scarf. If I keep doing this, then I will never retain my length. I’m hoping that I will do better this month. Ohw I almost forgot. There have been some improvements. I deep conditioning with heat every week and did a dust & destroy method every month.

Step 1 I started with the Mizani Botanifying Conditioning Shampoo. In sections of 3 I washed my hair twice. I like how my hair feels after shampooing. This product gives my hair a nice balance. After the wash I did a quick light conditioner treatment with Organix Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Conditoner. When applying the conditioner I also finger detangle my hair. I left the conditioner in for about 10 minutes and then rinse it out.
