Wash day | 11th October ‘14

2014-10-11 Wash day

Saturday!!!  It was time to wash my hair. During the week I have moisturized only twice and have been protective styling by braiding my hair. Last week during my wash routine I did the search and destroy method. I really need to concentrate on my ends, because the split ends are driving me crazy.

Step 1
I decided to clarify my hair. I need to do better with clarifying. For the wash part I used Tresemme Deep cleansing shampoo and Organix hydrating macadamia oil shampoo. This is my first time using two shampoos in one wash. The reason for using 2 products is because a clarifying shampoo strips down my hair –  and yes the Tresemme shampoo really cleaned my hair and scalp – So I decided for the second wash I will use Organix shampoo to bring back the moisture.

2014.09.20 Products

Since I relaxed my hair .. smh I have been neglecting my hair really bad. So today I decided to give my hair that extra TLC. I’m also going to change my regimen, but first thing first.

[1] #PrePoo: when I do a pre-poo treatment I will use an oil or a light conditioner. This time I decided to make a mixture of the Redken Real Control Conditioner with Coconut Oil. I wanted to try something new. In mind this mixture will give my hair an extra boost. Plus I don’t use the Redken Conditioner that often. In sections of 4 I applied the mixture to my hair, concentrating on my ends. When I was done it was time for my scalp. I applied a mixture of Jamaican Black Castor Oil x peppermint oil and then massage my scalp. Can you believe that I pre-poo for 1 ½ hour.

2014.09.07 RELAXER

After 22 weeks post it was finally time to relax my hair. I told myself I wasn’t going to stretch for more than 20 weeks, but hey here I am. Don’t get me wrong I love stretching my hair and see my hair grow. But after a while I couldn’t deal with the thickness :(.

As always I used ORS to relax my hair, but I went back to the no-lye relaxer. I had some difficulties using the lye relaxer. I also I didn’t like the end results when I used the lye relaxer. Yes, with the lye relaxer I achieved more texture, but the relaxing process was a bit difficult for me. But now I’m back the no-lye relaxer and yes I’m happy.

Wash day 24th August ‘14

foto

So I’m finally home from  my trip and it was time to wash my hair.  Because of my braids I had to find a different way to do my wash  routine. To make it easy I used a spraying bottle.

Step 1
I started with conditioning my hair. I mixed Cream of Nature Professional Moisture Extreme Conditioner with castor , rosemary oil  and glycerine. I dilute the mixture with a little bit of water. I applied the mixture on the beginning of the braids. I deep condition my hair for about 1 ½ hours without heat.

How do you do it? – maintaining your braids –

braids hairstyleOn my trip to Madrid I braided my hair. I like to braid or weave my hair when I’m away from  home. It was a trip for 9 days.  The reason I do this type of styles is because I don’t want to bring a lot of hair products on the trip.

During my trip I realised that I  had nothing to keep my hair moisturize. A wrong move for not brining any hair products. – it is important to keep your hair moisturize even when you have braids –  For the trip I made a spritz for my face – a mixture of rosewater with a little bit of water -. Instead of using the spritz  for my face I decided to use it on my hair.
