Wash Day Routine | Relaxed Hair

SUNDAY 17 DECEMBER

In week 49 I was supposed to do a protein treatment, and guess what …. I wasn’t able to because I ran out of ApHogee Two Step Protein Treatment. Last week I decided to combine clarifying and protein treatment together. It is really important for to stick to the monthly routine!

Wash routine | Relaxed hair

Saturday 2 December

Let the drama continue! The laziness is kicking in. For the last two days the before the wash routine I have been sleeping without a scarf. For me it is a must to protect my hair with a satin scarf. So please, can anybody ask me ‘why I’m doing the opposite?’ When in was detangling my hair I was crying from the inside, because of my hair loss.

wash routine | relaxed hair

Saturday 25 November

This week I have been focusing on protecting my hair against the cold weather. Sometimes it sucks living in the Netherlands, it was a rainy week. To keep it simple, I styled my hair in two cornrows.

STEP 1 | PRE-POO
To give my wash routine a boost I decided to do an oil treatment. I warmed up my Coconut oil and in sections of four I applied the oil to my hair and scalp. Started at the end and worked my way on up. I went a little overboard with the oil but it got the job done! I let the oil sit on my hair for 30 minutes without using heat.

WASH DAY ROUTINE | RELAXED HAIR

Wash Routine For Relaxed Hair | October 28!

I’m really in need of a protein treatment, but I never get the time. Last week I had a wedding to attend to and this week I was Cinderella – I had to clean my house – . The good thing is that I’m keeping up with my co-wash during the week. It really helps with minimizing the breakage. I can do better with co-washing, don’t get me wrong, but I’m paying more attention with co-washing during the week.

Wash Day Routine | Relaxed Hair

Wash routine for relaxed hair | September 26!

In the weekend I was busy with some activities what led me to wash my hair during the week. Since I have relaxed my hair I have tried to leave my hair alone. Also I need to do a ‘hard’ protein treatment to strengthen my hair. This is a treatment that I need to do ASAP!

STEP 1 | PRE-POO
Because of my lack of moisturizing my hair felt dry, so I decided to pre-poo with Garnier Loving Blends Argan & Camellia oil Conditioner. I’m really falling in love with the Loving Blends line! I planned to pre-poo for 30 minutes, but I fell asleep so the pre-poo process was longer than two hours.

After rinsing out the conditioner my hair felt soft and had a nice shine to it.

STEP 2 | SHAMPOO
The goal is to finish certain product, because it’s time to clean up. To cleanse and moisturize my hair I used Creme of Nature Argan Oil Moisture & Shine Shampoo. In sections of four I shampooed my hair. To be honest my hair feels soft, but I definitely went overboard with my last relaxer.

STEP 3 | CONDITIONER
Because I just relaxed my hair, I’m planning to use more products from ApHogee. For the deep conditioning I used two products; ApHogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor. This product will help me to strengthen my hair. After rinsing out the conditioner I followed with Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer to bring my hair back to a right moisture balance.

STEP 4 | LEAVE-IN
I haven’t used Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream in a while, so I decided to use it. In small sections I applied the product to my hair and sealed with an oil mix.

After applying the leave-in I styled my hair in a high bun and let it air-dry.

I want to do a castor oil challenge to work on my thickness, because I want to get my ‘thick’ texture back.

The journey to healthy thick hair continues!

Healthy Journey,
E. Starr
