P R O T E I N | T R E A T M E N T
Now that I am trying to keep up with my protein treatment, I notice that I am trying to listen to my hair. During the week, I notice that my hair felt week and I knew it was time for a protein treatment.
STEP 1 | PRE-POO
Starting my wash routine with a pre-poo. For the last couple of weeks I have used Garnier Whole Blends (Loving Blends) Repairing Conditioner. In sections of four, I applied the product to my hair and after 25 minutes of pre-pooing, I rinsed the product out. I try to pre-poo my every time before washing. For now, I like this product for pre-pooing.
For the last two weeks I have been wearing my wig as a protective style. I’m trying to leave my hair alone and protect it from the weather. So far I’m holding on. Before I started with the protective style I did a protein treatment, two weeks ago, to strengthen my hair. I planned to wear my wig for another 3 weeks – I hope I can manage, after a while I miss my hair – .
At this moment I’m 18 weeks post relaxer
For a while I wanted to do a pre-poo ‘oil’ treatment with my steamer. I applied vitamin E oil mixed with a little bit of Jojoba oil all over my hair and scalp. Normally I would use Castor or Coconut oil, but I wanted to try something different. I used the Huetiful Hair Steamer for the treatment. After the treatment the front of my hair felt soft, but the back felt a bit stiff – weird -, I need to play with using Vitamin E oil for a pre-poo treatment-.
Lately my schedule for my wash routine has been messed up. I didn’t want to wash my hair, but I HAD to. My hair was screaming for a wash. I had a b-day dinner to attend to, so there wasn’t enough time for a “take it easy wash routine”. So I did a quick wash.
In four sections I shampooed my hair with Mizani Puriphying Shampoo. I can’t remember the last time I clarified my hair, but I needed to remove all the product from the last past weeks. I washed my hair twice and wrapped my hair with a cotton t-shirt. I’m still working on minimalizing the hair loss during my wash. I need to do a research how I can go about it.
I don’t know why I keep on doing this. I haven’t been faithful to my regimen and my hair is screaming for help.
Step 1 I started the routine with a new shampoo that I bought in February ‘Mizani Moisturfusion Milk Bath’. This shampoo had the same smell as the conditioner. I washed my hair twice in sections. The shampoo has a nice feel on my hair. the texture of the shampoo feels like a light conditioner that you will to co-wash. This month I will be using this shampoo to see if it’s a keeper.
Step 2 After I t-shirt dried my hair – I left the t-shirt on my hair for about 30 minutes– I gently detangled my hair in four sections. I love my texlaxed hair. Thick – soft – fully hair … YES!! For detangling my hair I always use a shower comb. After that I went on with a protein conditioner. I applied ORS Replenishing Conditioner on my hair. I have been using this conditioner for yeaarrss and it has never let me down!! I was feeling lazy, but I told myself NO be serious – lool sometimes I need to check myself-. It’s been a will that I did the DIY hair steaming method. – I will do a separate post bout this method-. I deep condition my hair with heat for 30 minutes.
Saturday evening I went to a birthday party and I new I was fucked for the next day. I really wanted to wash my hair before I went to church, because my hair was DEAD!!! So I decided to start my wash routine at night.
Before I went to bed. I decided to do a pre-poo treatment overnight. Because of the Hairlista Coconut Challenge I used Coconut oil on my hair and applied an oil mix (black castor oil x peppermint oil) on my scalp. I warmed the coconut oil with my hand, that’s the easy way.
– I love me some pre poo treatment. In the morning my hair was so shiny and moist –
I’m trying to keep up with co-washing my hair. In February I bought Organix Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Conditoner and it was time to try it out. I co-wash my hair the same way I wash my hair with a shampoo.
