Wash day | May 14!

For the last two weeks I have been wearing my wig as a protective style. I’m trying to leave my hair alone and protect it from the weather. So far I’m holding on. Before I started with the protective style I did a protein treatment, two weeks ago, to strengthen my hair. I planned to wear my wig for another 3 weeks – I hope I can manage, after a while I miss my hair – .

At this moment I’m 18 weeks post relaxer 

Pre-poo treatment
For a while I wanted to do a pre-poo ‘oil’ treatment with my steamer. I applied vitamin E oil mixed with a little bit of Jojoba oil all over my hair and scalp. Normally I would use Castor or Coconut oil, but I wanted to try something different. I used the Huetiful Hair Steamer for the treatment. After the treatment the front of my hair felt soft, but the back felt a bit stiff – weird -, I need to play with using Vitamin E oil for a pre-poo treatment-.

Shampoo treatment
For the wash I used ORS Olive Oil Hydration Shampoo – my hair can definitely use the moisture -. The shampoo is mixed with drops of Rosemary oil.

Deep condition treatment
I used Mizani Moisturfusion Milk Bath Conditioner. Angry mood, that moment when you ran out of conditioner and can only apply a small amount to your hair. I couldn’t complete my deep condition routine like I wanted to, but hey I made it work. After applying the conditioner, mixed with Castor oil and Glycerine, to my hair I sat under the steamer. I wasn’t happy with the end results. My hair wasn’t moisturized like it normally would after using the Mizani conditioner. I don’t know if it’s because of the pre-poo treatment or that I applied a small amount of conditioner.

Leave-in treatment
When my hair was towel (used a t-shirt) dry I sprayed CHI Keratin Mist all over my hair and bun my hair up, so that it could air-dry.

In the evening my hair was completely dry. I could feel my hair was strong and thick – happy about that – To moisturize my hair I used ORS Hair Lotion – Holy Grail, this product really moisturized my hair -. I planned to wear my wig again. So it’s time to braid my hair up!!
