I’m getting ready, because one more week and I can finally texlax my new growth. Prepping my hair for next week treatment. I planned to do a protein treatment to strengthen my hair and get my hair ready for relaxing.

Being 16 weeks post relaxer it’s important to keep my new growth soft & moisturized. So with my latest routine it was all about my new growth, because they needed some TLC.
Last wash routine for the month March and it’s time to detox my scalp. I was contemplating to do a clarify routine or detox, but yeah detox it is!

The month January is over and I’m thinking to myself ‘have I done all my hair treatments?’
Normally I would do a protein and clarifying treatment every 4 weeks, but my hair was in need of a protein treatment. It was time to get rid of the build-up of hair products. For the last two weeks I really focused on moisturizing my hair on a daily base. But I noticed that moisturizing too much makes my hair dull. Don’t get me wrong, I will keep on moisturizing, but I need to co-wash during the week to keep the balance.

In the weekend I was busy with some activities what led me to wash my hair during the week. Since I have relaxed my hair I have tried to leave my hair alone. Also I need to do a ‘hard’ protein treatment to strengthen my hair. This is a treatment that I need to do ASAP!
STEP 1 | PRE-POO
Because of my lack of moisturizing my hair felt dry, so I decided to pre-poo with Garnier Loving Blends Argan & Camellia oil Conditioner. I’m really falling in love with the Loving Blends line! I planned to pre-poo for 30 minutes, but I fell asleep so the pre-poo process was longer than two hours.
After rinsing out the conditioner my hair felt soft and had a nice shine to it.
STEP 2 | SHAMPOO
The goal is to finish certain product, because it’s time to clean up. To cleanse and moisturize my hair I used Creme of Nature Argan Oil Moisture & Shine Shampoo. In sections of four I shampooed my hair. To be honest my hair feels soft, but I definitely went overboard with my last relaxer.
STEP 3 | CONDITIONER
Because I just relaxed my hair, I’m planning to use more products from ApHogee. For the deep conditioning I used two products; ApHogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor. This product will help me to strengthen my hair. After rinsing out the conditioner I followed with Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer to bring my hair back to a right moisture balance.
STEP 4 | LEAVE-IN
I haven’t used Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream in a while, so I decided to use it. In small sections I applied the product to my hair and sealed with an oil mix.
After applying the leave-in I styled my hair in a high bun and let it air-dry.
I want to do a castor oil challenge to work on my thickness, because I want to get my ‘thick’ texture back.
The journey to healthy thick hair continues!
Healthy Journey,
E. Starr
